NGOs and Government
in Collaboration for Development (2004) : Developed on the basis
of a Keynote Address delivered to the Karnataka Regional Branch
of the Indian Institute of Public Administration, this document
traces the traditional moorings of voluntary action and their
influence on current thinking of the State with regard to NGOs.
It analyses the possibly well-meaning but often blurred
perception of NGOs by the State, leading to contradictory
expectations and resulting in a love-hate relationship that
struggles to come into its own.
