People's Institutions Managing Natural Resources in the Context of a Watershed Strategy : This book, originally the basis of a Key Note Address delivered at a workshop of the India-Canada Environment Facility (ICEF), focuses on the various institutions created in the context of natural resource management programmes and examines the relevance of each institution and the likelihood of its sustainability beyond the life of the project. In this process, it also looks at the Hariyali Guidelines and the Sujala and KAWAD strategies for involving Panchayaths in watershed management.
Papers under the Myrada Rural Management Systems Series : Three papers were brought out in this year. RMS Paper 36 carries the title Are loans more effective than contributions in promoting participation and ownership? The roles of Panchayath Raj Institutions. RMS Paper 37 is titled Participation and Integration in Watershed Management Strategy in Government of India and Government of Karnataka Programmes and RMS Paper 38 is on the subject of Resource Centres.
Putting Institutions First - Even in Micro-credit : This book which was first published in 2001 was revised and reprinted this year.
Sanghamithra - A Micro-finance Institution with a Difference : This is the title of a book that is in the press and soon to be released. It traces the history and progress of Sanghamithra Rural Financial Services, a not-for-profit MFI promoted by Myrada to lend directly to self help groups in both rural and urban areas.
Project Newsletters : Several Myrada Projects are bringing out newsletters in regional languages : Uzhavar Malavar from our Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Erode District and Hani-Thene from our Huthur Project in Chamarajanagar District have been regular, with good reader feedback.
